I love thinking. I believe of all activities available, it’s my favourite. Both the human individual mind and human collective culture are so funny, ridiculous, saddening and surprising, that I can spend hours thinking about how things and thoughts and feelings and experiences fit together. Other people call this dreaming.

I love dreaming. People don’t chase dreams no more these days. They are stuck with tiring, unsatisfying jobs, inferior relationships and low self-esteems, because they don’t believe there’s something better out there. But I do think my dreams are out there somewhere. And quite easy to grab if I focus well enough. Like writing an online weekly column. It’s a dream, but in fact quite easy: just go on and write.

I love writing. Everytime I write a new column, not only do I get to share an experience or point of view. I also learn so much: about what research says considering the subjects I ponder on. About what others think and feel. And about the way I feel and think myself. New insights, new thoughts.

I love learning. Life is so incredibly complex and interesting.

Cecile Weekly gives you a weekly peek (in fact every Monday) into the reasoning and concoctions of Cecile, me, a girl in her mid-twenties from the mainland of Europe.

In August 2007 Cecile was tagged by another blogger and asked to tell 7 random facts about herself. Below you find her answers:

I’ve been tagged… by my own favourite read London-Lass (my faithful commenter, so you should’ve noticed her by now: go read her blog, it’s brilliant).

Anyway: I’m supposed to tell you 7 things about myself. So here we go:
1. I really hate networking for business. It feels fake and generally evil to talk to people just because you might need their services one day.
2. I love Matt so much that I almost certainly know, and at least very much hope to, to have bought a house with him, got proposed to by him, got married and produced him a baby within the next five years. There. I said it.
3. I’m unable to take care of plants. They always die within weeks. And I sometimes secretly wonder why Matt’s plants won’t die so I can finally buy new disposable ones…
4. If I were to be trapped on a deserted island, I hope I’d have the whole Beatles discography with me (and a means to play them).
5. I used to think I was sickly rational, but I recently realised what you, my readers, probably already have known for ages: I’m actually sickly emotional and sentimental.
6. I like cats, chocolate, Chinese food, the smell of nature and bumble bees. I dislike music of which the lyrics are unhearable, wasps, small children with spaghetti sauce or ice cream on their faces and people that make noises in their sleep (or while breathing in general).
7. I want to be a full time writer and feel an idiot for having wasted my time on silly marketing studies and commercial jobs before I realised. I hope to turn things round in the coming years but am a tiny bit scared.
